Today we went to Chin Enthnic Community Myanmese Refugee Khampat Christian Fellowship Ctr in Sg Long, Kajang area to give out Shoes donated by Abaro Shoes, school bags with stationary sponsored by a few kind friends, School art supplies and books plus some Goodie bags for the kids sponsored by Robert Howe!
This Community has approx 50 refugee families waiting for relocation to another country. Some have been waiting more than 10 years. They run their own Kindergarten & Primary community school in a rented terrace house. Some of the older boys attend Monfort School.
It was a little chaotic giving out the shoes and goodies as the mothers and kids sat on the floor trying out shoe sizes. We didn't know what to expect, but the community was warmly welcoming honouring us with a prepared welcome and food. Kids were shy. Language was a bit limiting as they mostly conversed in their enthnic language. Smiles were the only words for some.
I pray that their paperwork is processed soon so that they can go on to their final permanent home.
